Are iPhones and iPods That Good?

Watching Twitter these past two weeks was amazing. Everyone gushed over iphone 3.0 software and then the iPhone 3gs. Today was like a shark frenzy waiting for the software download and that’s ok, there’s nothing better than love and loyalty from your customers.

Last year I asked a client about the devices on his hip. On one side had a huge winmo pda and on the other side an iPod. “They do the same thing” I mistakenly said. Boy you should’ve seen his face, “No, I play the ipod through the car stereo…” Oh, ok. Instead of continuing, I realized my error and changed the subject. Shortly after I bought the ipod nano video and duplicated the same thing I had on my winmo smartphone.

I guess if you want it done right you have to go to the current experts. Sony for awhile was the multimedia expert but they totally missed the mp3/digital download bus. Did you see the news about stores that sell music? They are bleeding money as we speak because no one under the age 40 is buying a CD let alone walking out the house to buy music.

To make it even more ironic, Apple and Amazon makes it easy to buy music on your mobile phone 24/7 even while away from your PC. Who needs store hours when you have the internet at your fingertips, streaming music and/or downloadable music? Yep iPhones and Ipods are just that good and they are raising the bar for the next generation mobile tech.
