Iguodala Becomes Sixers Building Block

The Philadelphia 76ers and restricted free agent Andre Iguodala have agreed to a six-year, $80 million contract, league sources tell ESPN.com.

The athletic and exciting 6-6 forward/guard has improved his scoring average in each of his first four seasons, and promises to be a mainstay on a Sixers team that recently signed former Clippers big man Elton Brand to an estimated $82 million free-agent contract.

Some say 80 mil is way to much for this 24yr old underachiever. I'm on the fence with this one since he was consistent just mentally somewhere else. He doesn't look focused or hungry. Right now he's relying on his physical abilities. Next season maybe he'll be better with Elton Brand on the floor too. I still think we need a stronger Center. Dalembert has improved but who's there to back him up?

Am I dreaming??? Elton Brand and the sixers have a verbal agreement? Not since Charles Barkley have we had a legitimate power forward who can score and rebound!!!

Andre Miller scored 20 points and Willie Green had a career playoff-high 17, helping the Philadelphia 76ers stun the Detroit Pistons 90-86 Sunday in Game 1 of their first-round series. The Eastern Conference's second-seeded team was expected to beat the seventh-seeded Sixers by double digits and did lead by 15 midway through the third quarter.

Sixers trades

korver

I waited to do some research for this one. At first look it seems odd. Kyle Korver is a 6-6 211lb forward and Gordan Giricek is a 6-6 260lb guard. Hmm,Korver has the all time Sixers three point title and Giricek had a verbal disagreement with his Utah coach. So far it doesn't look good, but here's the genius part, our new GM also got a first round pick from Utah. Ok, so we get a cheaper-than-Korver European player who with enough minutes should give us points until his contract expires at the end of this season,AND we get an extra first round draft pick we can use in 2009.

Is it Dalembert?

Ever since Dalembert stepped up, we seem to be winning?
