Does www.plurk.com still exist? Let's check the site...Yeah it's still there. Soooo, I haven't been there since I signed up. Micro-bogging is very much alive with so many programs co-existing together. Honestly www.friendfeed.com was cool but quiet until www.twitter.com came back. I dropped twitter for a while thinking it wasn't needed, but articles are still popping up about the value of twitter in a business space. Is Twitter paying these guys to say that?*Checking Email* Do you think twittering still matters? Will PLURK last? Let me know...

Twitter...Why Try?

Once again I'm under Twitter's mighty thumb of inadequacy. I finally find a way to comfortably use it via "twitbin" since I can't use it via AOL yet, and they still can't get it together. I'm sorry guys if you are answering me out there. First I can't see your replies and second, I've exceeded Twitter's maximum hourly requests....

Facebook can't beat this!

Facebook can't beat this!, originally uploaded by Solacetech.

Do we remember the original purpose for www.facebook.com ? I'm not talking about Mark Z's reason. I mean the reason why the members would post pics of themselves at parties and concerts and parks... Do they still do that? With the advent of the "application" feature, i wonder if facebook's stickiness equals less activity. I remember my coworkers surfing facebook for girls when it first came out. Now they are probably sending each other movie and music quizzes. I might be wrong Since apps like www.britekite.com does emphasize your active location. Still, sometimes you can't beat sitting in front of another person instead of a pc...

Is The Friend Feed Party Over Yet?

Not at all! The Stats have changed also. With the resurgence of www.twitter.com ,tweet love is still the majority of traffic. The friend feed bookmarklet has picked up speed too. I've been trying to use it like twitter with some success.

Of course the biggest change has been the use of "rooms" and now the ability to add feeds to the rooms. I've read many discussions on this and the consensus seems to be a little automation with a lot of conversation.

Back to the rooms. Members have found a wide range of uses for it from Social Media arguments to baby announcements. My secret favorite room is the Problogger room. I won't go into detail because rarely does a paid blogger discuss their how-to's....

So is the www.friendfeed.com party over? Not even close. These guys created a platform with no presets or bondaries. You can do what ever you want to do here. It reminds me of a machine originally made to just add. Remember that one?

Twitter's revival

Twitter's revival, originally uploaded by Solacetech.

This has been a good week. I had a cheesesteak today. My freelance gig is going permanent and twitter has made up with gtalk! Yes folks, twittering is back. Did you miss it? Have you left plurk to come back home? I tried plurk but i couldn't get use to it's kindergarden interface. Everytime i went there i fought the urge to finger paint. Yes Twitter does still go down but until someone creates something better, i'm stuck, i mean i'm sticking with twitter...

Ruby falling off the rails?

Ruby falling off the rails?, originally uploaded by Solacetech.

With all the twittering Issues, i decided to visit wikipedia And do some research. Oh. Well it looks like the platform is made to develop web programs fast. Doesn't really go into detail about scalabiity. Can twitter move to another platform? Have they hired more developers yet? Ruby on rails seems to be a great science project, but clearly it's not ready for primetime...

Rooms+Stats=Twitter?

This might be a little too early but I wanted to a least put it on paper. After www.friendfeed.com fragmented itself into rooms, I wondered if the stats would change any. It doesn't look like it did too much. Twitter is still the number #1sorce of flowing info and Scoble is still the most interesting person on the web(heh heh, to me anyway). What has changed is the Blog stats. There is a lot more blogs to read(yea!). Friendfeed posts has increased dramatically also, the bookmarklet has to be one of the best Web 2.0 tools this year! So on this lazy Monday, I'm off from PC work ,but still hitting the blog bricks...What does your stats say?
