SanDisk says Vista isn't tweaked for solid-state drives - The Tech Report

"As soon as you get into Vista applications in notebook and desktop, you start running into very demanding applications because Vista is not optimized for flash memory solid state disk,"

Of course Hard disk drives will be around for a little while longer, but I still feel MSFT is still missing the boat here. With every other Company making smaller and smaller portable pc's, what will they do when/if everyone switches to SSD? Granted the only big advatage to Solid State Drives are their durability right now. Soon though as we see with SDHC technology, more memory will be available in smaller spaces. To have Bloated Vista on anything besides a desktop would be a waste of time right now. I hope they figure it out before it's too late, XP isn't the latest and greatest, it just the only safe choice presently...

This little laptop is a monster at work! It allows me to be mobile and test/resolve issues. I need to write this off somehow! Just Kidding. When I noted on www.friendfeed.com/solacetech that I dropped my Eee for the third time, here's the response i received :

I'm soooo anxious! My 4g Black Eee is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I got it from www.amazon.com because they had the best shipping prices. I can't wait! I forbade my wife to leave the house until it arrives. I might just break something so I can get home earlier, but since I work for the hospital system, they'd just keep me overnight...
I really want to put backtrack 2 or 3 on it but I can't stand SLAX linux. Updating it takes too much searching for the right "modules". I might put XP on it but that totally defeats the purpose. I did see someone with Mac OS 10, but I don't mess with the shady stuff anymore,anymore(not a typo).
So Philly get ready for some super geekiness tomorrow when I unveil the Eee PC!!!

This is SICK!!! HTC moved from the smart phones to the Ultra Mobile PC's with this one...

Are taking over the world. Really they are. The Eee pc laptop has been selling like hotcakes. The ultra expensive MAC Air, has an increasing waiting list. What's next?
