How To Lose Face In the Blogoshpere(and get attention from the FBI)
Reposting to make sure I'm the only N00B who makes this mistake...{edit: Blogosphere}
Guess I'm doing prose today. Earlier this morning someone posted on ireporter that Steve Jobs had a Heart attack. I did what any wannabe reporter would do and go to the stated site, search for this info on Google news and blogs, search on twitter and www.twitturly.com . I waited, then after not finding anything on Google, posted about the "possibility" of breaking news. I even updated that no new info arrived. After some encouraged me not to spread rumors on Friendfeed ( http://friendfeed.com/e/2e4146d2-95e9-549f-600c-97bb35a7ec5d/more-news-a... ), I stated that this was false and gave the appropiate link to verify that( http://myphillynetwork.com/content/tweet-flash-steve-jobs-just-had-heart... ) . Interestingly enough, some of the REAL reporters like Kara Swisher ( https://twitter.com/karaswisher )said we were premature in spreading this, especially without calling Apple to verify. Someone else noticed how this could've been done to have Apple Stocks fall long enough to buy, let it go back up and then sell. That's scary and since I don't want anything to do with that, I will not post ANY Apple rumors...
What do you think about this?
