Interview With Angela Benton

Full Transparency here. I use to work for Angela and she actual showed me the proper way to run an online business website. My problem was that I didn't want to learn as much as I could have, too much ambition I guess. Here is the interview:

What's your day job (it can be vague if you want to be safe)?
Currently I act as Creative Director at www.RushmoreDrive.com

How long have you been at your location?
My location? I am based in Charlotte NC, August marked my 3 year anniversary of being in Charlotte. Prior to that I was living in the Washington DC area.

What's the name of your Blog and what is it about?
The name of my blog is Black Web 2.0 ( http://www.blackweb20.com ).

Black Web 2.0 covers website and application launches; culturally relevant Internet industry news; and mainstream Internet industry news from an African-American perspective. We also analyze emerging web trends and how they apply to web properties that target African-Americans or African-American culture.

Mission: Black Web 2.0's mission is to bring to the forefront the wealth of exceptional innovation, talent, and ambition of Blacks in the technology/internet/interactive industries in an opinionated and authentic voice.

Do you own a company?
Yes, Black Web Media, LLC currently holds Blackweb20.com and other projects that we are working on that are yet to be released publicly.

How do you use Social Media?
We use social media to build relationships as well as well as a way to interact with our readers off of our site.

Where do you think Social media is going?
I think social media is going to continue to be more niche oriented. The web will ultimately become so fragmented that users will literally be able to curate their own unique web experience. Right now everyone is caught up in personalizing profiles on social sites, in the future users will personalize their whole web experience; from browser to UGC to general content that is consumed to social networks. Think the start page concept on a much larger scale.

Who's you're favorite Blogger?
This is a hard question, right now I really like Sramana Mitra ( http://sramanamitra.com/ ), her posts are always insightful and I also love the way she takes a thorough look into the strategies of some of the biggest web companies around.
