Newspapers- Even Jay Mariotti Sees Them Jumping The Shark
Submitted by Solacetech on September 4, 2008 - 4:35pm.
Jay Mariotti, the opinionated and polarizing sports columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, told the Chicago Tribune he resigned on Tuesday after
17 years with the paper.
It's like dominoes. Jay said he clearly sees how newspapers are losing their grip to online Websites. Thankfully he's smart enough to jump ship now before he get's labeled as a "legacy", outdated sports writer. The internet is old enough to support anyone with real skills. He's talking to Website companies for employment, but I think he should be using this chance to go it alone. Keep his Espn "Around The Horn" gig, start his own site and have ESPN and others sponsor him!
