Torpedo TV Projector Review
I waited for about 6 months to write this review. About six months ago, we moved into a house in Philadelphia with a huge living room. Our old place was kinda small and I wanted to keep the huge space open here. I really didn't want the traditional "T.V. Entertainment ctr." and I couldn't(still can't) afford a LCD/Plasma TV...So I'm walking around and walking around trying to envision what to do when it hit me! TV projector! One wall in the living room is at least 20ft. long and 11ft. high so a wall screen would fit. The next issue of course was which projector. I went to www.amazon.com and studied the LCD projectors and the DLP projectors from big names like SONY to lesser known names. Went to sites that focused on Home theaters and even used the MIRO program to pull videos that touched on home projectors. Finally I walked into a BestBuy and quickly walked out after being talked down to by a sales rep who would charge me to come to my house and tell me what I needed to buy...
Sooo what to do next? Well while searching thru www.walmart.com , I came across a projector made to connect to your DVD or video game console, for 178.00 bucks! The "TORPEDO DIGITAL PROJECTOR" is what it's called. It wasn't made to be played during the day but it's a great way to test a room to see if it's worth buying the real one. Funny enough after I connected it to my HD cable box and dvd player, we always seem to have "company" on the weekends. My in laws like it and they always find ways to come over and watch a movie on my wall, yeaaaa. It's not the brightest and the regular channels look better than the HD ones for some reason. When I get a real HD Projector the difference will be unbelievable, but until then, I'll be happy with this little torpedo.
