Welcome to Facebook! | Facebook.
When I first saw Facebook years ago, my suburban co-worker was simply cruising it to see what girls from his college was on their also. From the beginning it was used to be more social in real life (IRL).
As any student musician knows, to be the best, you have to find your voice by first imitating someone famous. First Facebook ate Myspace’s lunch by being them better than themselves. Then looking around, they noticed how well Twitter and Friendfeed were doing with the real time info/content delivery/microblogging mode. What does FB do? Create a look and feel that it’s users at first didn’t like…
What’s left to do than be a database of personal likes, dislikes and revealing conversations. I said the same thing about GDGT but this is WAY better. Corporations looking for research and developing can just dive into Facebook’s demographic numbers to query any marketing situation. Yes, everyone wants to focus on Google and the SEO potential(blah, blah, blah)…Really, I think Facebook is the ultimate crowd sourcing resource, makes me want to start a marketing company…
What do you think? Here’s the trouble it’s starting already…
