Between me and the above artist, we’ve tried many different ways to sell our music online. Due to legal issues I gave up but Rahsheen hasn’t. Lately he’s been on ReverbNation and it looks the best imo. Bio, playlist and store all on the same page, I love it. If you like what you heard just buy it now. I suppose the price can be adjusted accordingly on the artisits side.

I can see this being a great vehicle for fledgling music companies not wanting to sign with Koch Records for a distribution deal…

Google Reader – Solacetech’s shared items.

Thats what happens when you pause on a new google feature. It really, really reminds me of stumbleupon though. So much so that I’d have one hand over my mouth and the other hovering over my attorney’s speed dial button if I was them. What’s also eerie is the kind of offbeat content i get when I press the button.

The only difference I see is the widgets/thumbnails at the bottom that allows you to skip ahead to whatever catches your eye. This make me feel a little less helpless since with SU I usually cringe with one I open when I click to the next link. Take a look above and below and tell me if you like it, if it’s yet another vain attempt at being social or if Stumbleupon has a case…

Qik.com makeover
You spoke and we listened! After analyzing the feedback you all shared, we worked hard to redesign qik.com and recently launched it with a couple of pretty neat features. The first thing you’ll notice about the new site is the “Recent Activity” section, which is your new home page after logging in. Here you can view your recent videos, keep up to date on what your friends are up to, and comment on their videos as well. The Recent Activity section is also the home for your new live channel. Just start streaming and your live video will appear right there! One of the other cool features is that now chat and comments have been merged into one. When the video is live your messages will show up as chat on the phone and when the video is not live your thoughts will be posted as comments. Mediagazer is to Media as Techmeme is to Tech – Techmeme News.

Looking to strike while the iron’s hot, the current king of aggregation Gabe Rivera, has now launched a wider media site called mediagazer.com. It’s still finding it’s legs so I’m not sure if it’s just for social media or whatever the printed is pushing.

I do think this is the perfect time for this. With old media bitting their nails, someone from the blogosphere should stand up and assure the ancient giants how much we still care about them. Plus they are ripe for syndication deals imho. I can’t imagine Gabe not doing this as a business model, maybe some dinosaur media publisher will give him an offer down the line, that’d be cool…

Microsoft Demos Xbox Live game on Windows Phone 7 Series | WMExperts.

That is a given. No one has a better collection of potential mobile games than Microsoft. I wished Nokia didn’t drop the ball on this with the dissolving of N-Gage. Honestly the current iPhone games look like nintendo games to hardcore gamers. MSFT is in the best position to swoop down and port real games on the Windows 7 series phone. Yes I’m still mad my HTC Touch Pro2 won’t be fast enough to handle the future, even with a hack. I’m still happy though, to see M$FT make a right turn in the mobile field AND pool their already successful resources. This might even up Xbox and Zune HD sales knowing that you can sync things across platforms…

The ability to begin one game and have it continue seamlessly on another device would be a real coup for a company that has a much broader footprint in the services world than any other company in the smartphone business.

Not wanting Pennsylvania to be the next reception nightmare, an AT&T rep has contacted me with some promising 2010 numbers:

In 2010, AT&T plans the following enhancements to its wireless network:

Pennsylvania: adding more than 60 cell sites, upgrading nearly 400 to 3G technology

New Jersey: adding nearly 10 cell sites, upgrading more than 5 to 3G technology

Delaware: adding of nearly half a dozen cell sites

AT&T employees more than 3,200 employees in the Commonwealth.

This looks very promising indeed. My Blackberry on AT&T does the oddest things sometimes and I had clients in Philadelphia say having reception underground on the train is cool, but, having clear reception at home would be awesome. Here’s some info.

Plans Call for Addition of More Than 60 New Cell Sites and the Expansion of Backhaul to Increase Wireless Network Capacity

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 4, 2010 — AT&T* today unveiled its Pennsylvania wireless network investment plans for 2010, which include the addition of more than 60 new cell sites statewide, and the upgrade of nearly 400 additional cell sites to 3G wireless broadband throughout the Commonwealth.

Today’s announcement builds on AT&T’s 2009 wireless investment, during which it added more than 60 new cell sites in Pennsylvania and upgraded more than 175 existing sites to 3G. From 2007 through 2009, AT&T’s total capital investment in its Pennsylvania wireless and wireline networks was more than $725 million.

“Now more than ever, Pennsylvanians rely on mobile broadband connectivity to give them a gateway to get online for work, learning, recreation and much more,” said Rich Hudic, president and CEO of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, a statewide organization that works to improve Pennsylvania’s competitiveness and economic prosperity. “AT&T’s network expansion is just one example of how the private sector helps support Pennsylvania’s ability to compete regionally, nationally and internationally.”

J. Michael Schweder, president, AT&T Pennsylvania said AT&T’s private investments will help drive growth and innovation in Pennsylvania.

“During the past several years, we’ve made substantial private investments to provide our customers – and our Commonwealth – with access to the kind of technology that will stimulate economic growth, inspire innovation and create jobs,” Schweder said. “We remain committed to working with our state and local leaders to help create a positive economic environment that provides opportunities for companies to continue to invest aggressively in Pennsylvania.”

Internet usage growth has brought tremendous benefits for consumers, but requires tremendous investments in infrastructure. This significant investment in infrastructure and jobs is possible due to policy that enables companies to compete and offer the innovative services that consumers are increasingly demanding. AT&T has been working with policy makers to support a national broadband plan that enables broadband adoption and ensures broadband access to every American by 2014.

Wireless data traffic on the AT&T network has grown more than 5,000 percent over the past three years, largely attributed to today’s advanced smartphones that are generating dramatically increasing volumes of network traffic. In fact, roughly 40 percent of AT&T’s postpaid customer base uses a smartphone today, representing twice the number of smartphone customers than any other U.S. provider.

“We’re seeing advanced smartphones driving up to 10 times the amount of usage of other devices on average,” said Dan Lafond, vice president and general manager for AT&T in the central and eastern Pennsylvania. “Despite these unprecedented increases in wireless data traffic, AT&T’s network investments and upgrades have enabled us to continue to deliver the nation’s fastest 3G network.”

AT&T recently completed a software upgrade at 3G cell sites nationwide that prepares the nation’s fastest 3G network for even faster speeds. The deployment of High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) 7.2 technology is the first of multiple initiatives in AT&T’s network enhancement strategy designed to provide customers with an enhanced mobile broadband experience, both today and well into the future.

Faster 3G speeds are scheduled to become available this year and in 2011 as AT&T combines the new technology with our second initiative to dramatically increase the number of high-speed backhaul connections to cell sites, primarily with fiber-optic connections, adding capacity from cell sites to the AT&T backbone network.

The backhaul upgrades are also a key step in the evolution toward next-generation LTE mobile broadband technology. AT&T is designing its new backhaul deployments to accommodate both faster 3G and future LTE deployments. AT&T currently plans to begin trials of LTE technology this year, and to begin LTE deployment in 2011, matching industry time lines for broader availability of compelling devices and supporting network equipment.

AT&T’s 3G mobile broadband network is based on the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) family of technologies that includes GSM and UMTS, the most open and widely used wireless network platforms in the world. AT&T offers 3G data roaming in more than 115 countries, as well as voice calling in more than 220 countries. The technology also provides customers the ability to talk and surf the Internet at the same time.

AT&T is also an industry leader in Wi-Fi with the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network, which complements its wired broadband and wireless 3G networks, offering Wi-Fi connectivity in more than 20,000 U.S. hotspots — including retail stores and restaurants from coast-to-coast. AT&T operates more than 90 AT&T-owned retail locations in Pennsylvania. AT&T’s products and services are also available at a number of other authorized dealers and national retail locations.

In the early days of Twitter, I used to send out short updates just to keep everyone in the loop since so much was happening. It’s been a while, but you signed up for short, monthly updates from Twitter so we thought it was time to start sharing more information. We’ve had quite a year. Growing Up
In the course of a year, registered Twitter accounts have grown more than 1,500% and our team has grown 500%. Recently, we hired our 140th employee! His name is Aaron and he’s an engineer focused on building internal tools to help promote productivity, communication, and support within our company. We celebrated with a little dance party.

Features of Note
Some features of note that we released over the course of a year include the ability to create lists, quickly spread information with a retweet button, and an easier way to activate your mobile phone to work with Twitter over SMS. We also built a new mobile web site that looks and works much better on smart phones.

Feeling Inspired
By working together during critical times when others needed help, sharing important information that otherwise might not make the news, and inventing new and interesting ways to use Twitter, you’ve shown us that Twitter is more than a triumph of technology — it is a triumph of humanity. Projects like Fledgling and Hope140 were inspired by you.

Chirp!
While there may only be 140 full-time employees working at the Twitter offices, there are thousands of dedicated platform developers who have now created more than 70,000 registered Twitter applications creating variety and utility for all of us. We’ll be gathering this spring at Chirp, our first ever official Twitter developer conference.

via The road less traveled: A confession: I was the one who came forward about the Macbook Air.

Daniel Brusilovsky recently asked the founder of a startup for a Macbook Air and offered coverage in exchange. That founder was me, the CEO of Divvyshot. I came forward to Mike at TechCrunch.

For the record, Daniel never received any compensation from Divvyshot.

Why do I even care? I guess because the best way to learn is from your mistakes and the second best way to learn is from other’s mistakes. Mike Arrington said a while back that he metion the company names because they were the victims in this situation…Really?

Sam Odio from Divvyshot does seem like the victim according to his side of the story. This looks like an over ambitious kid doing too much too fast. Pay to play is definitely a practice in all industries, this is a fact. However, this does NOT make it right. Only honesty and hardwork builds businesses that won’t crumble later under the pressure of scrutiny.

Nobody’s perfect, we know that. Everyone wants to succeed, we know that. The tactics and techniques is what counts. Maybe now this trouble will settle down so we can back to the more important things…Like  why Loren loves bothering Robert, lol…

Microsoft: “No Windows Phone 7 upgrade for Windows Mobile 6.x devices”.

How sad. This is just Windows Vista all over again. In efforts to make us buy new hardware, Windows Phone 7 will not work on devices slower than  1ghz and with more than 3 buttons?

Despite the HD2 meeting many of the criteria laid down in Microsoft’s ‘Chassis 1’ spec – including a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, high-res capacitive touch display, 5 megapixel camera and 3.5mm headphone jack – the phone will be ruled out for the simple reason that it has five buttons instead of the three mandated for all Windows Phone 7 devices.

That means the shiny new HTC HD2 you broke the bank for is now worthless. That also means any new apps developed for the narrow minded 7 series won’t work on your 6.x phone. Way to go M$FT, bring us into 2010 with a stupendous fumble. I feel like an idiot buying the Touch pro 2 now. After upgrading it to 6.5 it has now hit it’s ceiling and I can’t test 7 on it. I can test Android on it, I can emulated Windows 95 on it but I can’t upgrade it to the newly proposed 7 series…Wow.

PS3s Suffering From Global Network Lockdown – PS3 – Kotaku.

Supposedly this is linked to Sony Retooling it’s PS3 Site… Any other Theories?

Problem is, the error does more than just prevent you from going online. It prevents you from playing certain games offline as well. The screen above is what I was greeted with when attempting to play Heavy Rain, and pressing out of it simply reboots the PS3, returning you to the main menu screen. It’s the same story for other games that feature dynamic trophy support.
