Fwix / Supported Cities

Talk about holding hands. In this wash-your-hands season, Fwix creates a way for everyone to at least think of a better way to co-exist. Using a new service called “Adwire” Fwix wants to promote local newspapers and their reporters via Blog/CMS promotion. The widget is clean and eye-catching (see said widget on the right of this post :-) )enough to get a couple of clicks but I agree that this won’t make anyone rich by itself. It is a great idea and a noble gesture, so I hope it does work out. Here’s the deets via email:

“Fwix is basically a new local newswire – it aggregates news from traditional news sources, bloggers, and citizen journalists to deliver the most up-to-date and comprehensive local news on the Web. You can add the AdWire widget to your site and tailor it to your site’s look, tone and content – to bring local news to your readers and also earn revenue from the built-in ads. You’ll have an account where you can see your traffic, revenue and other dashboard-y type stuff.”
