“We managed to push visualization forward once again. We believe the screenshot below tells it all. Quickly see who’s around you by avatar instead of just an icon. Now the normal icons represent content and the avatar icons people. Take the Visual Tour on IRL Connect and don’t forget to upload your AVATAR!
As you all know, we launched a simple version of IRL Connect on the mobile and we know many of you want more features than we currently rolled out with and we are working on that. The next round of features will include posting to and from Facebook and Twitter from your mobile and more handset compatibility including the N95, the G1 and the Blackberry Bold.
This week in a ReadWriteWeb article on the changes of MySpace, the writer Marshal Kirkpatrick said “Facebook can’t rule the world for ever. No one can.” We think that social networking should enable the user to share photos, videos and content from any social network. We see an open playground that allows users to interact and collaborate in real time and in real life. This is the mirror world of location based services that we are building at IRL Connect and we hope that you will join us in creating this future.

New features
Put your face on the map! Now you can upload your photo and it appears on the map. Instead of an icon, your face marks where you are. Some users have gotten pretty creative. Here are some of our favorites. |
We have made it easier to find the IRL tools. The bottom menu items Map Layers and Friends are now part of the top menu and we added the funky globe from this newsletter too.
