Samsung launches bada open mobile OS | Electronista.

Just when you thought Android was about to take over the mobile world, Samsung pulls a stunt like this. Create your own OS, how dare you! They already had a good widget UI going so to add and market an open sorce operating system is like icing.

The main thing about this move? Supposedly…:

“It will be based on universal standards and won’t consider even core aspects of the OS off-limits: developers can not only use contacts, the dialer and other utilities but extend them with new features of their own.”

Sounds like someone is trying to beat out AAPL via open software developement…
