Yes sir, it’s summertime. Time to release your mice and keyboards and pick up a shovel and trowel. My backyard is huge and needs professional help so I’ll just focus on the front flowerbed.

Last year I planted annual Marigolds and ornamental optic grass (I’m such a techie). Later I found out that this kind of grass likes really moist soil so they died halfway through the summer. The marigolds of course did well and I received many compliments for my urban garden.

This year I’m trying to replicate something I did 15 years ago for my Mom’s front yard: Wildflowers. The effect was quick and beautiful. Hopefully I’ll get the same results with this pack of wildflower perennials.

Have you started your flowerbed yet? C’mon, it’s time to be green people…
