Twitpocalypse + Super Fail Whale = Crashing Twitter Programs

Twitpocalypse is the name given to a bug that’s about to be exposed.

Twitter Moves Up The Twitpocalypse. All H*** May Break Loose Today.

This lovely event is going to happen at 2PM Pacific or 5PM Eastern time today. Becuase of a strange math error, after 2,147,483,647 tweets are created, the number starts counting backwards supposedly. This will cause multiple errors for third party Twitter services.

So, if you are using tweetdeck, seesmic desktop, twirl, or any mobile twitter app, prepare to be down for a while.
